True Confession:

I miss Jack Bauer.

Silly putty… Silly butty.

Silly putty… Silly butty.

25 relatively unimportant things…

1. I secretly wish I could be an archaeologist. (except that it would be annoying if people called me “Indiana Kafka” and even more so if they called me “Casi Jones”)

2. My kids are already funnier, smarter, kinder and prettier than I could ever be… careful who you breed with… ;)

3. I like to watch trashy reality T.V. because it makes me feel like a Truly Accomplished Super Genius in comparison.

4. I have a problem with even numbers. It’s just not right. For example: 2 + 2 = 4 (even result), 2 + 1 = 3 (odd result), 3 + 3 = 6 (EVEN result! HOW IS THAT FAIR!?) Freaky Evens… keep them away from me.

5. My husband follows me around the kitchen tickling me while I make dinner and I’ve taken to punching him to try to make him stop. He won’t…

6. I don’t mind doing laundry - it’s just the putting it away part that wears me out.

7. I Love waking up early on mornings when we’re camping and cooking breakfast in the dirty iron skillet.

8. I drove a motor home around on a couple-day-long joy ride with two girlfriends in the back while listening to Snoop Dogg during spring break of my freshman year in high school. AND I returned it safely, gassed up and parked perfectly, thank you very much. (yes, I had just turned 15)

9. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to decide which hair color I prefer most on myself.

10. I’d rather spend time around people who are smart, funny and creative than people who are “nice”. Nice can be so boring…

11. I can’t understand why those silly Girl Scouts make any other cookies besides Thin Mints?! They should drop the other recipes and redouble their efforts toward the True King of All Cookies. I’m even suggesting Girl Scout-Slave Labor if that’s what it takes to get the Thin Mint the true glory it deserves.

12. Patrick (my hub) likes to start singing/humming/whatever the beginning of random songs while I’m trying to get things done because he thinks it’s funny that I feel compelled to stop whatever I’m doing to finish singing whatever song he began. Think: he sings, “I am the Man, who will fight…” YOU HAVE TO FINISH SINGING THAT. You just have to.

13. I Love the smell of onions cooking in butter.

14. Don’t tell anyone, but I watch The View everyday. (and I’m Horrified to find that Elizabeth Hasselbeck is popping out another child - somebody, Quick, birth a Liberal offset Baby!!)

15. I have a recurring dream that takes place on a little grassy planet at night. All my friends are spread out just far enough that you can make out who they are but you have to yell to talk and we’re all wearing back packs. We take turns jumping one at a time, straight up in to the sky and flying around, then when it’s the next person’s turn we go back to our places and wait. I always wake up excited to tell everyone that I know how to fly… but it’s just a dream.

16. I have an unyielding faith that a magical tornado will come in the night to pick up The Ray family’s house and drop it next door to mine. Just wait. It will happen.

17. I think my husband could outswim Michael Phelps if he really trained and tried. (stoned or not…;)

18. I Love plant nurseries. I love gardening. I have a luffa vine.

19. I still run up the stairs to our room when all the lights are off in the house. I even make mean faces out of windows at night while I’m closing the blinds if I feel spooked that someone might be outside watching me.

20. I could eat Mexican Food every single day of my life. It’s a food group in my world.

21. I enjoy a board game. Pente, Chess, Rummikub, Yahtzee, Monopoly, Mancala, you name it - I probably like it.

22. I miss our family ski trip vacations… of course, I can ski anytime I want to now, but it’s just not the same when you don’t have to pile into a big white van and sing annoying songs for hours on end while inhaling the revolting fumes of beef jerky and exhaust…

23. I am a great driver and a Horrible passenger. Really Horrible.

24. I wish I could somehow record the stories of my grandparents’ lives. I am fascinated to learn about the people that they are and have been, beyond the roles that they’ve played in my life. I can’t imagine how much the world has changed for them.

25. One of these days I’d like to write a book. I’m not sure what it will be about but I’ll let you know when I narrow it down… you’ll probably be in it, so you’d better start sucking up now.
